CINEMASCOPE -2008

Research project // 3 weeks

We all tend to fix the time we have lived: we register it in our memory, in images like photos and in videotapes. There are barely no differences between memories and usual moments. But memories have the advantage of being easy to manipulate and we can experience them once and again the way we prefer. Sometimes we ask ourselves if we have really experienced a certain event or we have on the contrary invented it and finally we end up getting into a mess with it. Memory and fiction walk hand in hand. We all make up stories from time to time.

Cinemascope
departs from my fascination for the film La Jetée by Chris Marker (1962). In Cinemascope we research on dance, cinema and time. It is a research project to try out some initial ideas for a future creation project, to get familiar with the audiovisual language and try to exchange some working methods from both disciplines.
